Alliance Women - Ugly Sweater Christmas Party

Our final event for the year is our Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. Please wear your "ugliest" Christmas outfit and bring a plate of your favourite Christmas food to share. We will also be having a "white elephant" gift exchange, (A new or near new item - one that you bought and never got round to using or that present you were given that wasn't quite to your liking).

Our special guest speaker is Cath McLennan. Cath is a primary school teacher who enjoys ministry alongside her husband at the St Jonh's Anglican Church. She has lived in Canberra for 22 years, having grown up in Adelaide and Toowoomba. Cath is passionate about helping children love history, working out how to keep four hungry teenagers fed, and in her free time loves gardening.... but can usually be found looking around for her glasses!

Plan to attend and bring a friend!

Inaugural Tim Fischer Oration on Ethics in Public and Political Life

Speaker: John Anderson AO, Former Deputy Prime Minister

Q&A: Chris Uhlmann, Political Journalist and TV Presenter

The founders of our nation set out to establish a free, flourishing country. Australians were to experience freedom in private & public life, in social & religious matters, in the economic & political realms. The aim was – and is – an egalitarian and just society.

The Inaugural Tim Fischer Oration is an opportunity to give thanks for what we have received. It calls forth young people to protect and promote the common good through ethical attitudes and action in public and political life.
